actually what? compared to? If someone get puched with a fist it's what 10 footlbs.. verses a sledge hammer is 100 foot pounds. Just wondering the phyical dynamics of it all.
 
It is the amount of force required to move one pound, one foot, in one minute. Now you can see how useless this formula is to anybody but an engineer. The esoteria is not for one to apply to actual gun performance.

The more useful prameter for shooters is momentum=force times mass over a time period. Many equations like Taylor's Knock out are permutations of momentun calculations. Kenetic energy is very heavily weight in squared velocity, wheras momentum is straight velocity with no squaring. TKO is what I would use. Which is: TKO=(Mass b * Vel b * Dia b)/7000. This yields a relative number which quatifies how hard a bullet feels striking game.
