Weird thing today...or so I thought.
Picked up a pound of re17 at the local gunshop. The lot number was dated 2009.
Seems weird in this day and age of shortages it took 5 years to hit the retail shelves.
What are others seeing for lot dates on recent purchases?

Loaded ammo is good but I am much more interested in seeing more reloading components back on the shelves and available to the public... ie. bullets, powder & primers.

Seems everything but 22 LR can be found with some effort. In the past year I've found 9 lbs of H4350, 9 lbs of H4831, and 9 lbs of Varget. I saw some CCI LR primers for sale the other day, and I've not had much difficulty finding brass.

FWIW, those powder amounts seem large, but it's really just a keg and another 1-lb container. I prefer to get powder in kegs so I don't have to worry about lot to lot variation.

Yep. I was in Grand Island NE ( Hornady's hometown) and stopped by the LGS who is friends with Steve Hornady and I picked up three boxes of 105gr 6mm Amax. He was well stocked with most all Hornady bullets.

Powder having a 2009 date is suspicious to me. I wonder who was keeping it from market?
