Good News

Hi Dan, this sounds like you are building yourself one heck of a nice rifle in a capable cartridge.
Any ideas on finished weight with scope and rings?

Just a guess but I believe a little over 8lbs  as it is a #4 barrel & 26" in length.
I no longer have to go on any real long tracks so weight is not really a concern.

Blessings,
Dan

Went to local shop yesterday & found it closed until July 9th they all went for a little holiday.
Well I am going to get those components shipped up next week:)
Starting to get a little excited:)
I believe that I have found some Norma Brass for my 35 Whelen :). I am going use Norma brass with my 200gr ABs. That project is starting next week :) I got the new rods for my chrony so I can use it again  someone kept shooting them

Blessings?

Dan,

Where did you find the Norma brass?

I keep an extra four to eight rods for the Shooting Chrony and several new sky screens (they crack out in winter).

Well guys, I picked up my barrel & trigger today. They still did not have the H & S clip system in so I am going to check with Rod to see if they have one and hopefully it can be together in a short period of time

Blessings,
Dan

Another snag :( Rod from RMR advised that they have not been able to get any long action H & S clip systems in for over a year already. I believe that I have a long action top feed from my CDL that may work but would really like a clip system.
Any advice guys?

Blessings,
Dan

I have not had great success with detachable magazines in custom rifles. I definitely prefer a top load.

I'm not a big clip fan either. It seems like they scratch up the brass pretty bad and just don't feed as smoothly. I built 5 rifles for a guy recently that were clip fed and none of them fed as smoothly as a internal mag.

My experience precisely.

So I am easy  I will go with a top load  Now will my CDL system work in the Manner stock? I believe it will.
Just waiting to here from Rod and I will bundle up the components & ship them..

Blessings,
Dan

Get one from defiance, or badger. No sense in cheaping out now.

Problem with that Super-7 is the time element. I will have to wait again and I would like to use this rifle yet this fall 8) I not sure where you can order them in quickly:)???
If anyone has any idea at all please let me know!

I would email Badger ordanance direct and see who the Canadian rep is.
In alberta I would try in this order. Alberta tactical, custom gun works, precision shooting supply. One of those three should get you headed in the right direction. You'll need to use the google machine as I don't have direct links.

I'm still stuck on the color schemes.

How about a turquoise stock with a hot pink barrel?
