Put some 165 grain ballistic tips in front of a dose of IMR 4350 and headed to the bench. While the target crowd may not like this much I think I'm pleasantly surprised at the results out of my old 30-06.

It will work if you do your part. While "bug holes" are very satisfying, minute of elk is what works in the field.

That will get the job done just fine. On a different note I had great luck accuracy wise with 165's and IMR4064 over IMR4350.

Nice. Try seating your bullets a little deeper. You should be able to tighten up your group.

A mild load of 4064 with 165s has served me well over the years as well. Just trying something different to see what happens.

Nothing wrong with that. I was never able to get the accuracy I wanted with 165 and IMR 4350. 180 BT on the other hand loves IMR 4350.

I'm a bughole nut.
Probably too my detriment.

IMR4350 was always my go to powder in the 30-06 with both 165 and 180 gr bullets.
Great speed and sub MOA in a 700BDL and 742 carbine.

Looks deer killin enough for me! Bugholes are awesome to see, but once you hit the ground and start practicing from hunting positions you'll never see the difference. Or, at least, I cannot see the difference.
