...one one of these chambered in 6.5x55...

http://www.tikka.fi/t3models.php?varmint

...I've seen this rifle touted as a "Best Buy" entry level rifle on a couple of LR shooting sites, & the price is very attractive. Been looking @ case dimensions, & it looks like it would be very easy to rechamber to 6.5x284. Wouldn't have to change the bolt face, magazine, etc., just a rechamber & rethroat the barrel...

...Feasible??? What say you???

Yes it is, thought about doing that with a SS T3 lightweight but haven't done it so far.

I've got a T3 Lite in 223 that I won in a raffle.
Has a 1/8 barrel on it.
It shoots lights out with a couple of loads and the factory trigger is very nice.
My only complaint is the magazine.
Severely limits playing with OAL with the heavy bullets
and for heaven's sake don't lose one of them.
They are pretty pricey.

...yeah, I've got a T3 Lite in .300 WSM that has become a very good elk rifle. 200yd. "cold bore" check shows it is obviously much more accurate than the Mod. 70 .325 WSM on the right  8) (that might change a little when the .325 gets all dressed up w/ its new 4.5X14 VX-3 CDS)...

...even w/ the cost of rechambering the Tikka would be less than a comparable Savage, & I like the Tikkas better, meself...

Man just rechamber. That's it. It wouldn't take a smith much to do it either. Get your self some dies and fit to mag and rechamber.
