got any .257 bee pet loads?

any one have any pet loads for a .257 weatherby using 120 gr partitions or 110gr accubonds? could you also specify coal please? thanks in advance!

Have you checked out the Nosler Data available online? They usually list a few different powders that will work well for you. I would think something like RL22 or slower would be excellent in the 257WBY with either bullet. As for COAL, I usually start at magazine length and work back. I like to keep all my bolt guns as repeaters. Scotty

A stiff charge of rl22 wirh a 110 ab works in mine. Couldn't get the 120 s to shoot might try the 115 pt

I've settled on IMR 7828 & 115 B-tips for mine at the moment.
The 110AB's actually shot really well for me until I had to go mess with something that wasn't broken :roll:

I would imagine you have excessive free-bore, so magizine length may be your determining factor?

My gun seems to group everything, but right now using 71 grs r-22 with 100 grn ttsx bullet @ 3550 fps, love the load, love the gun. 8)

Keep your overall case length shorter around 3.16 if I recall is what is best for me and close to weatherby factory loads

Wouldn't call it "pet load" yet, but was out the other day for my second session w/ a Vangard I just traded into and 66 gr of H4831SC under a 117 gr Interlock made a little bug hole in the target.

Gonna try that w/ 115 NBTs, too, but velocity was anemic... about 3240. Obviously the powder was too fast, so I've picked up a lb each of 7828 & RL22.

I've got 100- 100 gr ETips on the way for testing. Anybody compared these to the TTSX accuracy- and velocity-wise?

Shooting the 100 grain Barnes TTSX over 74.0 grains of H1000, Norma brass, and Federal GM215M primers and 3.180" OAL. The load shoots between .5"-.75" all day long.

This rifle has proven to be really finicky, so I'm sticking with this combo. Shooting a Weatherby Mark V Fibermark, topped with a Leupold VXII 3-9X40mm LR reticle.

I have worked with four different rifle in .257 WM. The Nosler 100 grain E-Tip on top of 73.5 grains of H1000 touched off with a Federal Gold Medal 215 primer yields 3400 FPS and .25" groups. The 110 AccuBond does the same speed with 71.0 grains of IMR7828SSC, same primer.
Keep the OAL right at 3.175" athe 110 group right at .50"

Thanks for the tips! I was really starting to get discouraged because i wasn't having any luck getting the 120g Partiotions to group under 2" until I seated my bullets about as deep as factory loaded ammo. I had the .257 WBY at the range this evening to test out the shorter COL and was surprised with a group that measured .640". I was using 69g of RL 25 with a COL of 3.160. I ran out of daylight before I tested everyting I had so maybe tomarrow I will be surprised again. I would like to try some IMR 7828 also. Keep your tips coming and thanks again!
