One of my favourite rifles! Mine gives me a 0.5 MOA with a variety of loads. Wise purchase, POP. You'll love it.

Surprisingly, the only game I've taken with this rifle is a bison taken with the 250 grain Speer. I carried it a week ago for black bear, but we saw none. I'm packing the 200 grain TSX and 49 g H335 for black bear.

Congrats on a nice levergun Pop!

An elk-hunting buddy of mine has taken quite a few elk, a black bear or two and a few mulies with his. My family sure likes our .308 BLR, a .358 would be just that much better!

Pop,

The 225 gr PT would make it a penetrating power house for elk and bear, not to mention a dandy deer rifle.
Let us know how she shoots.

Pop looks like a fine weapon you have there. One of these days I'm going to have to give a lever gun a try.

That is a great choice. I have the pistol gripped version. Very nice shooter. Haven't killed much other than a couple of Whitetails in NY with it. I had just got it and made up two loads, one using the 220gr Speer, and the other using the 225gr Sierra. Both using Varget and they were very accurate. Shot both the deer at about 40-50 yards with the iron sights. One with the 220 and the other with the Sierra. Both bullets blew right threw and the deer stayed put. Scotty

I will start off with the 225 Sierra.

That is a good one for the 358 Win I think. I am looking forward to your loads for the 358. I have some loaded up right now is AA2520, Varget and H4895. Just ran out of time in order to try them out. I am hoping one of them would be 2400FPS with decent accuracy. Scotty

I think you will find what you are looking for. It seems the 225gr Sierra is hard enough at 358 Win speeds to do great work. Scotty
