Got me an 8mm rem Maggy!

You do know how punishing an 8mm Mag is when it comes to recoil???? I think you should send it to me and let me handle it, I don't want your shooting technique hindered by your emotional response to the felt recoil.  OH!! Glad to help my friend, no need to thank me, just send it soon.

They do kick for sure. I had McGowen build me 2 10 years ago. One LSS rem 700 and one sendero on the Mark X action.

My load was 220 Sierra BT 80 gr H4831 and 83 gr RL25 for 3100 fps

I've used the Sierra 220 grain in my 325WSM, and it gives me excellent accuracy. I haven't shot anything with that load, however. I should imagine that in the 8RM, that particular bullet would be awesome. That mass at 3100 fps would definitely deliver the goods to a moose or an elk.

That's in the best shape I've seen a used BDL in and in a great caliber. You scored on that one.

Yeah, I think I will keep my eyes out for this one in the classifieds if it doesn't make the Fotis cut.

Got a good story about one of these. In the early 90's my dad went to check his drop and sight-in on his now my 280. Guy who worked had just bought one of these new but a leupy on it and was a very nice set up. So my dad put 3 150 PT into a group of 3/4in at 100yds 2 inches high. And this feller grabs his box of shells and says nice shooting. Slides the box open and pulls one out. He says "How would you like this?" My dad replied "I'll bet ya $20 you can't shoot that whole box." So he loads his 8MM REM MAG and places it on the bags lines up and pulls the trigger hit 2 inches to the right and 3 inches high. He shoots it again this one is about a foot to the left of the target and hits the berm. So he loads another and fires again. This one he pulls 3 foot high and 6 feet to the left. He got up and asked my dad if he wanted to shoot it. Dad says looks like you've had enough with that thing and I've seen enough of it I don't need to shoot that cannon! Needless to say never stick your foot in your mouth until you try it.

Yeah, them bigger rifles aren't meant for the casual shooter, that is for certain.

I still think it is going to be to much for FOTIS's comfort level,  8) and when that reality sets in, you know where I am FOTIS    Just a little encouragement brother

I will see what I can do.... with my old self

You know you will do fine, I am just suffering from gun lust   Oh, did I mention my birthday day in November

You will get first crack at it. You know when I perfect it with a load that shoots, and my frustration ends.

That is usually the time I sell them! so I can re-frustrate myself.
