I was hoping that I could get my new Encore Pro-Hunter barrel to shoot the 115 ballistic tip for the high bc capability in order to shoot long range coyotes and also mule deer this year. Looks like it is going to work out! This group was shot at 100 yards. Next test will be to try further with the Vortex Diamaondback 4-12 with the BDC reticle.

Very nice YS! That 25-06 is alot of fun. Just loaded up some more 115 PT's last night. Wanna get them out and zeroed at 250.. Should make a good multipurpose combo for deer and yotes around here too.

You are definitely dialed in, my man. That one will serve you well.

Looks good. I have never been disappointed by IMR 4350 with any cartridge I've used it for. I do prefer Re22 for my .25/06 with 110+ grain bullets but IMR 4350 is a very good all around performer.

I shoot 49 grs IMR or AA 4350 with the 117 Sierra Pro Hunter in my 26" barrel 25-06 and average 3000 fps and exact POI with either powder and ragged hole groups at 100 and well under MOA out to 500 yards which is as far as I have papered it. I use CCI 250 primers. I have found that primers do make a BIG difference in accuracy and in my 25-06 the 250 mag primers were the most accurate loads. If you will zero your rifle 3" high at 100 yards you will not be over 3 1/4" above or below line of sight out to about 350 yards. That is the way I sight my rifles and on deer just hold center of shoulder and not worry. BANG FLOP. Good luck on your mule deer hunt.

Make sure you read up on the vortex dead hold bdc and compare it with a fairly accurate ballistic chart with velocity and altitude. A little research can go a looong ways with the vortex bdc scopes

I have input the info in the calculator but have not figured out how to correlate it to the bdc reticle yet.
