"Conservation activists" is misleading. A conservationist considers the entirety of the ecosystem, understanding that in some instances in order to maintain balance it will be necessary to thin some of the populations. "Activists" turns the entire concept on its head. The activist is fully prepared to dispense with humans (except for herself or himself) if only the animal can be happy. I concur, Gene, that it would be a good thing to relocate some of the bears to environs that would permit "activists" to view them up close and personal.
