Gun owners in CT engage in widespread civil disobedience

On December 31st, tens of thousands of Connecticut gun owners defied a new state law requiring them to register semi-automatic "assault weapons", thus making them a felon overnight. It's estimated that there could be as many as 350k+ semi-automatic firearms in CT that fit within their definition of an assault weapon and thus required to be registered with the state. As of Dec 31, 2013, less than 50k had been registered. State politicians are bewildered.

Funny about that. How could the politicians have been so wrong on their estimates. Of course, everyone obeys every law these cretins pass (deliberate sarcasm).
 
It's about time people started standing up and defending the Constitution.
Sadly I think it will take a rebellion to fix this mess.
 


Looks like CT has sent out letters to the gun owners.

I hope forced confiscation isn't even being discussed.

Could get real nasty.
 
Any liberty loving citizen who chooses to stay in CT is volunteering to become a subject. I'll bet there will be a boom for towns just across the boarder in Rhode Island. Maybe even in Massachusetts.

Some guy with a backbone won't bend. There will be a standoff with the cops. Good men on both side will die.

It could happen. This law may well have been passed by a majority, but that doesn't make it right. A lot of things have been legal, that aren't right. I can see no good coming from this.

I believe you're right, Guy. This will likely turn into a Waco/Ruby Ridge deal.

Too often it has turned out that the politicians planned an idyllic paradise which was compelled by force of arms. Good people, confused as to the right course of action react and American kills American. Politicians and jurists should be compelled to enforce their own rules.
 
The latest I've heard from friends that are still on the department I was with in Connecticut say that the Superintendent of the State Police would be more than happy to have his troopers go from door to door if directed. I'm wondering about a search warrant or would this be exigent circumstances. If this happens I think at some point the sh== will really hit the fan and I hope it ends up in the governors office. Boy am I happy I retired to Florida. By the way once you get to the Northern part of the Northeast (out of whacko land) New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine are totally different. Their idea of gun control is being able to hit your target.
 
Unfortunately you can't even trust the words of elected officials.
In NY we are now required to registered "assault weapons" based on their various characteristics. Compliance is mandatory by April 15, 2014. With great reluctance, I complied.
Interestingly enough, the on-line registration is only considered an "application". Who knows what could get your "application" rejected or what they would do now that you have provided all the information needed for confiscation.
Additionally, following my formal letter of approval, was a statement indicating that the approval is only good for 5 years max and that I would be required to reapply before that time.
None of this information was publicly disseminated.
Anti-gun public officials will say, do & conceal anything to get what they want!
 
This is already done...already past the point of no return...there are only two possible outcomes...

Compliance...or...fight for Freedom...and they've already shown that they don't plan on complying.

I think, somewhere along the way the Supreme court has lost it's ba--s. They were quick to stand up for the constitution and gun owners rights but I'm seeing somewhat of a shift in their thinking. The powers that be in the state of Connecticut are doing what they damn well please and the hell with the constitution forgetting that when they swore their oath of office they promised to "defend" the constitution.
 
I think the libs may be counting on us calmly obeying the law, and complying.

Law is not necessarily right or good. This is from a cop. What's illegal one day, is perfectly legal the next, so where's the moral high ground? The law isn't necessarily good or bad, it's just the law. Hopefully by the majority of the people.

But what happens when the majority are wrong?

Can a majority be wrong? Of course.

Such as German laws against Jews circa 1939. Such as Jim Crow laws circa 1950.

A majority of the state legislators passed the law - not a majority of CT residents.

No one would have died at Waco or Ruby Ridge if 1000+ unarmed concerned citizens had stood between the compound and the federal agencies.
 
Somewhere there has to be a line in the sand.
I think this may be it. I've thought for a few years, quite a few actually, that rebellion is in the wind. This may be that coming to pass. Lord help us all.
