H4895 in semi automatic?

Well lets hope that h4895 will work in this browning bar mk4 ! I just ordered 8lbs of it !! Got it on sale with free shipping . If anything itll get used in my bolt guns I guess.
First ill be trying 150gr nosler ballistic tip in it if it dont like that ill try Partition or hornady sst

Browning BAR works great with IMR 4350 in 30-06/300WM and 338 WM. Suggest RCBS small base sizer Die and Lee Factory Crimp Die.
Unlike the REM 742 that required IMR 4895 or similar burn rate powder.

Yes indeed, however, 4895 may not give the best velocity in any cartridge but where Ive tried it velocity is very respectable and accuracy is generally outstanding. Whether H or IMR, 4895 is a wonderful powder that simply shines in many cartridges. IMO, Im not sure there's a better all around powder.

The good thing is paper and deer aint gonna notice the lower Velocity lol. Iv heard for long time H and imr4895 is great in 308 , 3006 and many others . Especially good for the m1 3006 . So figured it must bee good for the average autoloader

I used 4895 years ago with 150 gr bullets in a Remington 740 in 30-06. At the time it was the only powder my 740 would reliably function with. It is still my go to powder for my M1 Garand. It isn't going to provide peak velocities but in the old semiauto it gave you functionality, which was more important. I have no experience with the Browning system to know if there might be something else that will give more velocity as well as functionality. I will bow to those with experience loading for it.

Just remember semi auto rifles you need to full length size your brass every time and you will be lucky to get 5 firings so no reason to waste money on premium brass get good reliable brass I have no issues with Starline or watch for sales on brass like Prvi and sometimes can get good deals on pulled brass from American reloading I have bought quite a bit of 7MM rem mag brass and it looks like new and comes with a free primer for prices that new brass was much more expensive. Only thing I noticed is American Reloading is not giving the discounts on pulled products like they were earlier in the year tells me that the stuff is getting tighter again. I notice they don't get as many pulled bullet selections like they were around last Christmas.
