when working up loads for hand guns do you work up the same as rifle ??? start low and work up ??? im starting some 9mm and the starting load with bluedot is i belive 7gr i found out that i was loading to light with 6.1gr
Yes always start low and work up. You did not say what bullet weight you are using, if it was cast or jacketed bullets.
My sierra manual says with 115 jacketed 7.3 grs Bluedot is the start load and 8.3 is the max. With 125 gr Jacketed 6.2 is the start and 7.6 is the max.
I have had real good accuracy and power with 115 jacketed and 6 grs Unique in my 9mm.
Always start low and work up. Handguns are a little different, pressures can rise very fast causing some serious problems if you are not careful.
Work up to a MAX load and stop there, don't push it.
