handy tip of the day

it's flagging tape season . I needed a new roll of flagging tape , and I thought I'd pass along a tip for keeping a roll of flagging tape from unwinding . I clamp a nail in my vice . heat it up with a propane torch until it's plenty hot . press the roll of tape against the hot nail . I've been melting two places , and this seems about right . one melt the roll still push apart . 4 melts seemed excessive when unwinding . next time I do this , I think I'll used a coat hanger wire , it'll be a little narrower .

got any tips , or tricks , you want to share ?

I'd have never thought of this , if I didn't need to fix up a new roll of tape . funny how we just do things , without much thought .

this roll might be melted a little more than necessary . I had my grandson for a week , and he was my helper .

if you do this , and it's not enough , you can always melt it more .

LOL , when he was younger , I'd tease his Mom and Dad about I'll spoil him and send him home for them to deal with . I guess showing him bad things could apply too .

this was getting to be my last try , to get him to set down that dang phone . He's 13 , and I think the phone is a permanent attachment to his hand . it is really sad how attached he is to that thing . he is growing up in the city . I just don't understand that life style , and I'm sure he doesn't understand mine . pretty sad situation from how I see it . He is a good student, and likes school , excellent grades , not in any trouble that I know of , plays a couple instruments the violin is one .in boy scouts , plays soccer , and takes jiu jitsu classes with his Dad . He's a good kid . it's just a different world today , at least I keep telling myself that .
