This looks like a high velocity yielding powder. I was just looking at data for the .257 Roberts (my newest Encore barrel) and notice that the next closest powder in velocity is almost 200 fps slower. It shows H4831 sending a 100 grain bullet at 3010 and the New Hybrid 100V at 3205fps with the same bullet. Just wondering if anyone has tried it. It is a ball powder and stick powder hybrid.

I used it with a Barnes 200 grain TSX in my 325 WSM. Velocities were not exceptional, but ballistics were good. One group yielded a 0.37" group. I also had good ballistics in several other cartridges.

Care to share the data for the .325WSM? I just happen to have one. I am wondering if it would be a good powder for some other applications. Let me know if anyone else has tried it.

59 grains of H100V gave a velocity of 2600 fps and a group of 0.37" with 200 grain Barnes TSX. As the load increased, the groups opened up with this load. As I say, I have found better loads. I am carrying this rifle this fall for hunting, shooting 200 grain Nosler Partitions and 64.5 grains of H4350. This load gives me about 200 fps more velocity and groups of about 0.60". It has accounted for a moose and an elk, and I have no doubt that it will work quite well on about any game.

Thanks Mike. I am carrying my Browning A bolt Stainless Stalker in .325 WSM shooting a 200 grain AccuBond with 67.0 grains of H4350, Win brass, and CCI 200 standard rifle primers. It shoots really really well. Funny thing is, I haven't chrony'd it. I know loads with lots less powder were in the mid 2700's, so I assume it is about 2800?? Should be a real hammer. I know it was rough on a bowling pin at 400 meters!

That Hybrid 100V sounds like it is a little faster burning than 4350. maybe it is close to H4895?

"My .325 WSM shoots 200 grain Nosler Partitions into 0.5" groups (64.5 grains H4350). I get similar results with 65 grains of 760 and 200 grain Swift A-Frames, 64 grains Big Game and Nosler 200 grain Partitions, 59 grains of Big Game and 200 grain Nosler AccuBonds, 68 grains of N560 and Barnes 200 grain TSX and with 59 grains of H100V and Barnes 200 grain TSX. I get very nice sub-MOA groups with 64.5 grains of RL19 and 220 grain Sierra Game Kings and with 67 grains of MagPro and 220 grain Swift A-Frames. The rifle is easy to load for and seems to be a consistent in shooter. It is one of the last Model 70s off the off the old Winchester line. The fit and finish were terrible and the bore was rough. However, with range time the bore has polished up nicely and turned into a fine shooter."

Hope this helps. I truly enjoy this rifle.

I've tried H100V in 260 Rem & 280 Rem. It is faster burning than 4350 by a bit, be careful loading with it.

Todd,

You are right on the projected burn rate for H100V. I have loaded up a series of loads in my 280, but I haven't had opportunity to shoot them yet. Perhaps this coming week I will get out to shoot them over the Chrony. I have used the powder in load development for a 22-250 with very good ballistics and fine groups (0.10"). I used the data provided on the Hodgdon site to develop this particular load and it worked quite well.
