Left home Thursday, traveled county roads for the most part from our home in Union county down to Lake County. Little over 300 miles. Dry country, hard living kinda place. Gets about 4 days of rain a year. Less than 10 inches a year for most of it. Giant rain cloud came over on Saturday morning disrupting the eclipse, one of our reasons for going. Had dinner Friday at ”the cowboy dinner tree. You can get a whole chicken or a 32 0z steak. Been told you need Reservations months in advance. Worth the trip. Took a couple of good hikes while we were there.

I think that I see Crack in the Ground, and Fort Rock. Have been both places.

Very cool country. Thanks for the photos!

Absolutely correct. Poked around out there a lot when I was younger but hadn’t been back in a long time. Christmas valley has changed a lot and not in a good way.
