HIGH PRESSURE SIGNS LOW VELOCITY

my guess is your borderline underpressure, personaly I would sacrifice 1 pc of brass, bump the charge up 2 grains and shoot it through a chrony, worst that can happen is you lose the pocket.

We located some new Remington brass. That is all we could find.
Made up some loads with 95.0-96.0 and 97.0 grains Retumbo and some 180 grain Ballistic tips and 180 grain Nosler Accubonds. Velocities for both bullets ranged from 3125 with the 95 grain charges to 3265 with the 97. grain charges of Retumbo. No stiff bolt and no pressure signs on the cases.
Accuracy averaged just under 3/4 of an inch for both. Point of impact was identical for both bullets as well.My friend is feeling better knowing it is not his rifle.
He is going to use the Accubonds as a moose and or elk load.
We are going to try 97.5 grains of Retumbo with the 180Accubonds and head out to the range again next week.
Now we just have 2 more weeks to wait for our big game draw results to come out.

Ah, bringing the load UP worked.

Good!

I'm thinking new brass helped as well. STW's original post shown issue with 95.0 gr of Retumbo and this go round with different brass showed no issue and speeds in the correct realm.

In either case I'm glad you got it straightened out.
