Holosun on Kimber 1911

Just got my Kimber .38 Super back yesterday, my gunsmith removed the adjustable rear sight and installed an adapter and mounted the Holosun 507 Competition. Looks pretty slick seeing those different reticles. Picked the reticle with the dot and the halo. I picked red over green, the " shake awake" feature is nice. Calibrated to shut down in 10 minutes when the pistol is put away, and once you move the pistol, the reticles comes back on. I haven't tried it out yet, more likely I need to sight it in and I have a couple hundred rounds of loaded 38 Super semi flat nose pushed by Blue Dot that I loaded about 20 years ago. Do you think those ammo are still good to use?
I don't have any pistol powder, its been almost 20 years since I last loaded pistol ammo. I have to dust off my Dillon turret press that I had wrapped up in plastic, and give it a good looking over to remember all the functions and moving parts.

Looks good man. That old ammo should be just fine, especially if it was stored in a cool dry place.
FWIW, I ran some 30+ yr old ammo through my 35 Whelen a couple years ago and it was shooting sub MOA. I have also been shooting trap with 700X that dates back to the early 80's. The 8 pounder is of metal can vintage. Unfortunately with that powder, my scores still suck!

That sounds like me when I try my luck at skeet. Trap I have no problems with and I should quit while I'm ahead.

Excellent! The red dot or green dot sights are growing on me. Kinda like 'em.

I did research, the bulk bag of 124 grain bullets is the Montana Gold hollow points, I have never loaded those yet. I was running the flat top and round nose. I was just functioning the Dillon, ran a fired .38 Super case with dies that has already been set on the block from 20 years ago. Ran it without a hiccup. Itching to go shoot the .38, but as soon as I get my 6 BR back with the new chamber by next week.
