Hornady Brass

I have no particular problems with Hornady brass. I prefer Lapua, Norma and Nosler. For some cartridges, Hornady is the only brass readily available. It has served me well.

I use it in the easy-to-find calibers, noticing that none of the WSM calibers are produced either in empty cases or ammo., as of this date.

The best, Jim

I've loaded a good bit of it over the years with mostly good results. But a few years ago I bought a box of Superformance in .300 Win. Mag. I shot 10 before I quit do to really poor accuracy.
I decided to prep those 10 and load them. When I tried to deburr the inside of the flash hole I started running into a problem. The burr was way longer than usual and the brass itself would barely cut. No luck turning by hand so I tried the drill press. Still no luck just some brass powder. It was like the tool was dull and it was not.
Finally I got 5 deburred and just quit. It wasn't worth it.
I see that as a quality issue. So I'm just not jumping at the chance to load much Hornady brass from now on.

That might explain why i'm having a hard time selling it then.

It seems to have a bad reputation in the High Power community for it's use in gas guns. M1 Garand, M1a and ARs seem to eat it up according to popular opinion.

I have personally not noticed this. Lasted as well as Lake City Military in my M1 Garand with comparable accuracy. Haven't tried any for more precise applications, I tend to stick with PRVI or Lapua for that.
