Hi, new to the site and hoping someone can help.

I will be in S california in may this year and was wondering what hunting opportunities are out there. I know there isn't much that time of year but would like get some local knowledge.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the site!

I used to shoot some ground squirrels in the spring, down in southern California. Pretty good varmint shooting.

There is likely some good boar/hog hunting to be had as well... I haven't hunted So Cal in 20 years though and will await comment from those who have, more recently.

Welocome to the forum.

I lived in Ca. for the majority of my 38 years. I'm currently in SC, but can tell you a bit about hunting in Ca.

May is a great month for hunting hogs. You can also hunt hunt coyotes then and sometimes make a combo hunt for both.

If that is soemthing you would be interested in, send me a message here and i'll do what I can to help you out.

...used to be ahelluvalot of jackrabbits & coyotes out around Lancaster, uh, a long time ago...

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Widgeon definitely interested, coyote more than hog as I am there for work and hate to see good meat go to waste.

Mail me at hotmail.com, same sign in, if you can help.

I hunted mule deer on Camp Pendleton while I was stationed there. Plus hunted the coyotes and bunny's out there too. I loved hunting the muleys out there. It was a blast.
