As I sat here typing a reply to a post regarding black bear bullets I came up with a thought. I mentioned the three bears I had shot and one had been with a Nosler bullet. Perhaps this forum should have a little competition since hunting season is about to kick off.

The best hunting story where you were successful this year using a Nosler bullet!

The hunt has to be this falls hunt.

At least one photo of the animal taken attached to your story.

And you have to use a Nosler bullet for the kill, reloaded or factory does not matter.

Perhaps the best way to judge this would be to maybe get some of the moderators to pick a few of the stories and then let the forum vote or open to other ideas.

Make a deadline of the stories being submitted by January 31st of 2012.

And just maybe the good folks at Nosler might be willing to donate a box of bullets to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place????

Just an idea I came up with tonight, as I don't post alot here I do get on the forum several days a week and read the stories. I thought it could possibly spark others like me to contribute some stories from the upcoming hunting season.

I like the idea as well. Now, I just need to shoot something with a Nosler bullet this season!

Hey, that's three jarheads that like the idea of writing something. What's happened???

I agree too...this is a great idea. Though alas, I am not a jarhead.

Just a hunter...

Me too, but what hair I have is cut really short does that count?

Sounds like a great idea.

Sounds like a great idea. Hopefully Scotty and me will both have stories after our October Elk hunt!

Well, if I could write, I might be interested. Problem is, we can't receive bullets from the States directly. Nosler would have to provide vouchers to be exchanged with the LGS for any Canucks wanting to participate. I don't even keep my hair cut all that short anymore.

Mike, you can get the bullets sent to my house. I will hold them for ya! Don't worry about the hair, you count buddy! Scotty

I knew I could count on your generosity, Scotty. What you wouldn't do for a friend! Consequently, were you going to keep that Model 70 257 Bob for me? The one that Tom wrote about?

Whatever you need Mike! I am here to assist all my mates! Scotty

It's ashame that Nosler does not have shotshells cause I predict in aweek I may have a story or to, us darn waterfowlers . but hey rifle season is not that far away.

I'm not a jarhead either although I've been told that I'm hard headed, and I recently went on a death march! Does that count.

This will be simple, I don't shoot anything else but Noslers unlike some of you slackers!

I am already looking forward to the stories, although I have a confession. The first hunt of the year for me will be with a muzzleloader for Elk. I shoot Hornady's through my muzzleloader because they are the most accurate and they have done a great job on several Elk that I know of. So even though there may be a story, it won't qualify. Deer season is right around the corner and that will be with Nosler's for both my daughter and I.

Still waiting to hear if the Nosler folks would pony up for some bullets to the winners though. :?:
