if you had to choose one powder for 264 win mag

I have seen Retumbo work very well for the 140. Hodgdon has it listed for the 120 and 130 also.

RETUMBO!!!! I was getting over 3600 fps with outstanding accuracy with 120 ballistic tips but decided to go with the 130 AccuBond for deer because I get close as well as long range shots. I get outstanding accuracy and 3350 fps. Six deer shot Six deer dead on the spot. Only recovered one bullet shot length wise into a buck. Recovered weight was 87 grs and a text book mushroom. I have a 27 3/4" barrel on my 264 Win mag.

Ramshot Magnum, its between RL25 and Retumbo in speed. I've become a big fan of Ramshot powders. They are ball powders and meter extremely well, the 5 rifle powders they make cover all of the cases out there.

WC872.
At $39.99 for 8 lbs of it, how can I go wrong?
Leaves more $$ for bullets

I am still on the search for "the" powder, but right now I am loaded and ready to try RL25 and IMR7828... If those don't work, I am going to try out some Magnum and maybe some N570.. I tried Retumbo and just could not get the consistency with it. H1000 might be another decent one too. I have NEVER worked so hard to find a consistent load, day in and day out than I have with the 264.. Hoping it comes together soon. I am primarily focused on the 140's as well. Likely the 140 BT and PT.

I hear you- I have had the same experience with my 264- tried both 7828 and r25 nothing impressive- Magnum powder worked a lil better for accuracy- I would like to find a powder that works great
