There are a lot of great .308 caliber magnums, but the .300 Winchester Magnum has to rank high among the favorites. If I ever shoot the barrel out of my 7m/m Remington Magnum it will be re-barreled to a 300 Win Mag.

Man, I just saw a video on here that proved the 300 WM was an over powered cartridge and too expensive to shoot. And that after two rounds from the bench, you will say "ouch". :sneaky: Sorry, couldn't resist.

It's tough to beat the 300 Win Mag. The round is inherently accurate, relatively easy to shoot and ample power for anything in North America.
Brass and factory ammunition are readily available, not to mention proven load data.

Have been looking through my notes and it looks like IMR 7828 was never the best performer-in my rifle or several others I loaded for. Sorry.
IMR 4350 and rl-22 seem to be the favorites. I know you didn’t ask about them. Rl-22 with the 180 A frame and original tbbc.

Quit shooting off the bench and get on the sticks!
