I had great results with a Hornady 180gr Interlock/300 Win Mag Sako 75 last year on a large Mule deer, 170lbs of meat in freezer. All spring I have been playing around with the rifle and after several combos I have arrived at perfection for me at least for my uses(black bear, deer, elk, moose, mountain caribou, sheep, and mountain goat here in British Columbia, grizzly bear has been closed now for several years

results 3/4" 5 shot group at 100 yds, avg velocity 2,996fps
holds 1 MOA (at least) out to 500yds.
I do have Nosler 180gr Accubonds and some North Fork 180gr bullets but I really don't see a reason to use them with this rifle . Maybe an excuse to get another 30cal Magnum rifle to load for??? Nope, too old for such folly.
I can see no reason to try to improve on this. Just load up 50 rds and I'm good for awhile. The Hornadys shoot pretty close to the same POA so I can use them for field positions shooting practice and save the fancy stuff for down the road use when I can come up with an excuse to shoot them . Frankly I find them too expensive . I've taken every animal noted above with plain old Remington cup and core bullets with no problems to date.
