Is It Time for a Quick Load Heading?

Is it time for a Heading to explore the parameters of Quick Load? Are there enough questions about the program and its application to merit such a discussion? Or is the occasional thread sufficient to address the queries?

I second the motion....

Actually, I'd like to amend it.

Maybe a section on software in general? Stuff like OnTarget and smartphone apps would probably generate discussion/questions as well.

Just curious if there might be any copyright or intellectual property type violations regarding sharing data frequently? A "shooting software" type heading where asking questions or improving performance of how the program works might be one thing but lots if data sharing could be taboo?

I think a software forum would be great.

Kraky, I think the QL people are tolerant of some data sharing. Fotis posted the first QuickLOAD results I had ever seen right here in these forums, and when I saw what it could do I just had to have it myself. I'll bet they've sold a LOT of software due to its exposure in forums like this one!

There's a point I hadn't thought about! I'm kind of waiting to see whats upgraded in the latest version...I've upgraded at least 3xs over the years...maybe time for the 4th!

Kraky, I upgrade on an annual basis. The updated versions are usually available in early January.

Another nice piece of software that i have recently acquired is the Applied Ballistics app by Bryan Litz ($30)...its worth every penny to me...no regrets buying it at all.

It is very similar to the "Shooter" app (which also uses Brayn's solver)...but with more functionality if you are really pushing the range (beyond 1,000 yards).

Both are good apps that do what they say they will do...Shooter would serve the needs of most every "hunter" out there...only those who routinely shoot beyond 1,000 yards would ever need "Applied Ballistics".

A software forum certainly would serve a purpose...

Speaking of ballistics apps...Strelok is a really good one to look into. I bought the plus version ($5-$6) and it's been well worth it.

I can see the advantage of a "tech" forum,

I've been offered an ipad for my birthday, but still not sure what I would use it for. if anyone knows of some goods apps for reloading/shooting I would be interested in them

Qick Load looks very interesting to me, but I don't have the battery of rifles and don't shoot nearly as much as many of you so not a viable investment for me but I can see where it's worth every penny for many of you

Tim,
Nosler's ballistics app is pretty cool on an iPad. I use it frequently to get some idea of trajectories and such.

huntstand lite is an app I just got directed to by a client yesterday, looks like it should be a very useful app for hunting new areas as well as showing new people around your current hunting grounds
