Is the 338 edge in the new manual or would a guy have to work up the loads 0.25 grns at a time.

Just looking round for a 338 RUM and they are not easily found here in Canada. Whereas the 300 RUM in a Sendero is common and the conversion isn't all that pricey. Gaillard barrels of Saskachewan lists the barrel at 350 + 240 for chambering and fitting. If I were to go ahead with the project I would get the action trued as well, not sure of the labor charges on that tho.

I guess that is a stupid question as the edge is a wildcat with no commercial recognition. How would I go about working up loads. Or just find somebody with one and ask them what they are shooting, reduce 5% and start there? I need to figure this out before I even consider trying this. If I do try it, I will try to find a shot out 300 RUM sendero after hunting season.

If you're talking about rebarreling, why not just rebarrel to 338RUM? Seems like it would work well, data is readily available, and I'm not sure I'd want to shoot even the RUM, much less a wildcat with potentially more (or maybe slightly less) recoil. I don't know much about the Edge, so I can't help much there. Seems like whomever the wildcatter is that invented the round ought to have some starting points for you.

As for load development, there are ways to approximate start loads using cases of similar size/shape and bore diameter, and then work up using a blade mic to determine pressure. I'm sure there are others that can help more, as I am not a wildcatter by trade, but I think you may be better suited to rebarrel to a factory round, if that's what you're after in the first place.

Very impressive but keep in mind that Shawn shots thousands of rounds a year down range over some very long ranges.
