Well being a retired mfg engr I just figure it out why Nosler is slow getting into the 17 & 20 cal bullet making.

1) In order to keep up with the supply of bullets needed the stamping presses would have to make soooo many strokes that they would wear out faster than their other presses.

2) With the stamping presses wearing out faster they have to either spend money for repairing them or spend money on replaceing them.

3) The bean counters have yet to figure out, that when you use a machine alot it wears out faster and the more you use a machine the more money it makes you.

Dick, I think they need to take one more look at it.

"1) In order to keep up with the supply of bullets needed the stamping presses would have to make soooo many strokes that they would wear out faster than their other presses"

The .20 and .17 caliber bullets are much smaller in diameter then say a 338 caliber. Nosler could acually use the same size die and produce more bullets with each hit, useing a die set to make more then one bullet at a time.

2) With the stamping presses wearing out faster they have to either spend money for repairing them or spend money on replaceing them.

I agree a multi part die will cost more to start then a single part die but will cast more parts once they get it up to speed. Beside a die and press is buisiness expence, Nosler can write them off their taxes and everyone knows how much saveings companies get with tax breaks

3) The bean counters have yet to figure out, that when you use a machine alot it wears out faster and the more you use a machine the more money it makes you.

I don`t know much about "bean " counters but I`m sure Nosler would have to hire more "bullet" counters to fill the little 50 pc boxes. That could possibly cause spending to rise.......Naaaaa, I forgot, employees are a tax write off, they`ll save even more money too cause if they can count to 100 and fill boxes they can also replace the high priced "bean" counters that simply sit in a chair playing with colored pencils and useing those high priced "adding" machines.

ROFLMAO

Well, I went and bought some 22 cal bullets, Noslers.......Not

, to start testing in the 22-250. I have to support a company that thinks about all of us small caliber shooters. When I find a load that works for me I'll sell the other 500 Noslers that I have and go buy more bullets that are in a green colored box.
