Jim Zumbo on AR type Rifles

I think good old Jim stepped in it, real deep, this time.

Perhaps he simply didn't realize how popular the AR-15 platform is with the good guys. Forty years of military guys training with it, and quite a few of us really like the little evil black rifle.

It's the most popular & most winning rifle at NRA service rifle matches.

It's the most popular rifle at action shooting and 3-gun contests.

It's an extremely popular choice for p-dog, varmint and predator shooting.

The AR-10 versions, avail in .308, .260 and even a few short magnums are starting to become popular with big game hunters.

It's obviously the rifle OUR guys carry, not the terrorists.

Many, many cops carry AR-15 variants in their patrol cars now.

Have to wonder if old Jim remembers that many of the hunting rifles of his day were converted Springfields, 1917's and Mausers with evil features like bayonet lugs, deep magazines and stripper clip slots for rapid reloads...

Yup - I sure wish he'd have run that particular article past an AR-15 shooter or two before publishing it. Where the heck was his editor? I can understand not liking the AR-15 and other military type rifles, but in today's anti-gun climate, it's likely an opinion best kept quietly.

Regards, Guy

Somebody needs to remind Dumbo, I meen Zumbo that the US military protects his freedom with those rifles and he shouldn't label them terrorist weapons. That oppinion is as lame as bowhunters who are against rifle hunting. You said it perfect Guy.

I just saw a show where JZ hosted, I believe an Army NCO, in Africa. I would be curious to know what the soldier may think of JZ now. I saw him at a Sportsman show a couple of years ago, very kind until he got my money for his cookbook. As soon as the transaction was done he turned away from me and would not speak to me or answer my questions. I would not have thought much of it except I was the only person at his booth at the time. I even showered and brushed my teeth before I went to the show, go figure.

Jim Zumbo has been dropped by Remington Arms, which was his biggest sponser.
No more free hunts so he will have time to write another book.

Generally Jim Zumbo Outdoors is on the Outdoor Channel on Tuesday nights. The show was not there tonight. It may be a scheduling error, it may not. Perhaps his career will be over and he may have to go into another line of work. I know the Outdoor channel covers alot of different types of shows that include the so called terrorist guns, they may have decided they did not want to be associated with his bad press.

JZ lost his show and was dropped by every one of his sponsers.
Ted Nugent has invited JZ down to TX for an AR hunt.
I wouldn't be suprised if JZ ends up being doing AR commercials.

He has used his name to be some kind of so called expert, He pisses me off everytime I see his show. I wonder if he has ever hunted with out a guide.
