The PDoggie gods shined on me this past weekend, but only first after drowning me and then freezing me. I should know better, regardless of time of yr, always bring warm clothes when out west... Flipping rained, poured, winds up to 45+ and temps down to low 40's with only t-shirts and a shirt-jac..

However, the storm passed and I was rewarded with warm temps, clear sky, a slight breeze and many, many fat little pdoggies offering themselves up. Twas a good shoot. Went thru 350 rds and wish't I had more .204 rds with. The 223 was dialed in also. Since this trip was more of a recon trip and I did not bring my heavy artillery. However next time, my 6mmAI, shooting bench and the Wild are parking under a tree for the day (along with a cooler of ice cold water and a pillow for mid day napps in the shade)..

I was using 32 gr VMaxs in the .204 and the always awesome performing 50gr BT in the .223.. The flip factor was better with the .223, but that is in part of the range I was shooting em at too. I was pushing the .204 close to 500 as I only pushed the .223 to 350.. This was the first real workout for my 204 and I must say, I really dig it... Now to feed it some Noslers..

A few pix to show my killing fields and my recon shooting set up..

Glad it worked out for you. We went in May, when it was so dry they stopped planting soybeans because they didn't think the seeds would even germinate. 10 minutes after we rolled in, it started raining. They got over 7 inches of rain that first afternoon and it showed no signs of stopping when we left. Three tornadoes about 20 miles away the first day, then two more right were we would have been the second day. Roads were washed out and buildings blown over. Even if it did stop raining our fields were not accessible.

I guess that saves on components for next year. Again, good to hear you had fun.

Good deal man. I was so busy this summer I did not go out once!
