Lead free?

So as I am sure most of you know in 2019, Ca will be lead free. I have four years to get out of here. But, in the interim, does any one know of lead free bullets to reload for lever actions??

Barnes mmakes bullets for the 30-30 and the 45-70.

Barnes makes a 150 grain TSX FN FB (http://www.barnesbullets.com/products/components/rifle/tsx-bullet/). I would imagine it works pretty well. They also make a TSX FN for the 45/70 (http://www.barnesbullets.com/products/components/rifle/tsx-bullet/). What calibre do you anticipate requiring a monolithic FN? I'm going to guess that if the market for FN non-lead bullets is obvious, you will see development by Hornady and by Nosler in the next five years. I am somewhat surprised that Sierra hasn't responded to this trend; they still may do so.

I have an old Win in 30-30 that I want to reload. But after reading all the info on the 45-70 here, I would love to play with one. I saw the Barnes Busters but would rather have a bullet that opened. I also saw the TSX but was concerned that a rifle might not like one particular bullet which would leave me...well you know.
My other concern is that the bullet manufactures might do as many of the pistol manufactures have done and just write Ca off. Only one thing to do...get out of here and move to Wy :!:

Hornady makes a 140gr GMX FlexTip for the 30-30, I believe. Worth checking into. Not as much as moving out of the state, but worth checking into.

Thank you dubyam. I like the looks of the mono-flex tip. Looks like production has been "suspended." Hopefully they will continue with it.

Unfortunately, for those states transitioning to lead free, the core is still lead. The FTX (http://www.hornady.com/store/FTX) is a fine bullet, however. They are made for .30-30 (160 grain), 32 calibre (165 grain), .348 (200 grain), 35 calibre (200 grain), 44 calibre (265 grain) and 45 calibre (225 grain, 250 grain and 325 grain). That's a pretty good selection.

Doc, Hornady also makes a 140gr monolithic FTX GMX hybrid called the MonoFlex:

Or, at least they did until they suspended production of much of their line earlier in this crisis of supply. I suspect if we ever get rhe emperor out of office, they will resume production. If, of course, they can.

Thanks for the intel, dubyam. I haven't seen this and haven't handled it. Very good to know. Perhaps it presages a commitment to address some of the deficits that will be created by CA and other states that move that direction (i.e., lead free).
