Title about says it all. Is any load data available or suggested for the 338 winchester using the new 300 gr Accubonds? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Do you have the 300 grain ABs? I wasn't aware they were shipping.

I am guessing a powder like IM/H 4831 or similar burn rate would be a good place to look.
I am going to start with Retumbo in my 338 RUM.

Many .338 WM's are 1:10 inch twist, some .338 WM's, like the older Browning Safari .338 are 1:12 twist. My Model 70's have been 1:10 inches twist in this caliber. The Browning shot the 275 gr Speer bullets with really good accuracy and velocity despite the slower twist. I guess it will depend on the ogive shape and muzzle velocity that the new 300 gr Nosler has. I expect that they should work great in the .340 Weatherby.

The 338 300 gr AB will stabilize in a 1:10 twist.

I ran the 275 Speer's in my 338. Granted, it is a way different bullet than the 300 AB, but I have to think it might. By the way, for the 338 with HEAVY bullets, RL22 seems to work really well

This was at 200 with them started at 2650..

Not sure what the 300's will do, but maybe 2400-2500 should be doable?

Scotty,

I agree, The 300 gr out of a 338 Win Mag is going to be 2400-2500 fps.

I am hoping to get 2700-2750 fps with my 338 RUM. Running the numbers at 2750 fps with a .720 BC is impressive!
