I just picked up dies and brass today for the rifle. I am in unfamiliar territory here so any help would be appreciated. I am looking to go with pills on the heavier end of the spectrum... thinking 270s and/or 300s. I lean towards H and IMR powders and use 4350, 4831, 4064, 7828 fairly regularly. I am willing to venture into other powders but would like to keep the powder inventory streamlined. At any rate, I know all rifles are different (mine is a m77 Hawkeye w/ 23" barrel), but if anyone has some loads that work well for them that they'd be willing to share, I'd love to give em a whirl!

Mine really liked Ramshot Big Game and IMR 4895 with the 260 AB. I haven't played with much anything bigger than that. I would guess that the 4350, and 4064 would be a good place to start for the heavier stuff.

Good luck.

In my .375-.358STA (which is close to the same capacity as the .375 Ruger) I shoot IMR4350 with 250's and 270's. With 89grs it spits the 250gr Sierra's 3080fps.

I really like Big Game in my gun with 260gr and 300 gr Accubonds and my buddies have great loads with RL 15 and 260's. Out of the powders you mentioned a lot of guys have had great success with IMR 4350 and H 4350.

From the 20" barrel of my Ruger Hawkeye:

260 gr AccuBond 80 gr Big Game CCI 250 2750-2775 fps
300 gr AccuBond 78 gr Big Game Rem 9 1/2 M haven't cronographed yet.

Both group under 1 " easily when I do my part sometimes much better. Have worked with the 235 gr Speer and it's done well with Big Game if you ever decide to shoot lighter bullets.

Work up to it like I did

When I had my .375 Ouch & Ouch, I used IMR 4350 for all bullet loads from 260 to 300 grains and from 100 to 300 yards with great accuracy and high muzzle velocity. Not telling you what to do but IMR 4350 serves pretty well.

I had excellent results with a 270 grain TSX and IMR4007SSC (0.56 inches). With the same bullet, H380 also gave me sub-MOA.

The 375 Ruger is easy to please and will handle a lot of different powders well, it's kinda like a big 30-06.

wow! tHAT SAYS IT ALL!

Yeah that's my home defense load in case I get overrun by Elephants!

RL17 is close to IMR4350 in my tests except it refuses to show pressure signs. I got up to 3000 fps before I quit with the 260 gr AccuBond but not quite as good accuracy. That has about the same trajectory as a 270 win!
