I and couple of diehard long range shooter friend went out last Sunday to shoot steel at long range. I haven't been shooting much lately ever since I got into cycling so when my buddies called, I skipped my ride that day and went out shooting instead. I'm glad I went.
We set up our steel target at 500, 1,000, 1,760 (1-mile) and 2,300 yards. To cut the story short, I made it to the mile club. It took me only 2 shot to hit the target at 1,760 yards. Tried the 2300 yards but the 27 Mrad and the 25 MOA canted base on my rifle wasn't enough to get to 2300 yards. Two of my buddies that has 40MOA canted base on their scope was able to connect at 2300 yards.
The distant hills is where we were shooting just to give a perspective of the distance.
Erek knob on my USO is perfect for long range work.
