378 Bee....if it does not like the 260 Accubonds.

Looks interesting. I've had some success with GMX bullets in other calibres.

I never tried them. I have tried the 260 AB's in several 378's but with no success...... or the scope was broken. Not sure which since I trashed so many on the 378.

I would try the H4831 with the 300 Partition and if that did not work i would try the 300 Accubomb as in the Nosler manual but is this not the rifle that eats scopes for breakfast, lunch and dinner :?: 102.0 gr and work up to 112.0 gr ?

Nope not if she is unbraked, then all is OK. When you brake it that is when the recoil impulses change (like a springer air rifle) and eats scopes.

Or the ginormous free recoil! It's gotta be hard on them, brake or not. They're beasts!

71.0 ft Lbs is more than I would wanta have to deal with for sure ! You talk to Dean Rumbaugh in the Custom Shop about this issue ?

Not looking forward to the 71 ft/lbs believe me but I rather get hammered than keep on returning scopes for service.
I wish I did not have to!

I am just glad you have that cannon operative as I have heard how hostile the Elephant's, Lion's and Water Buff have been in Cheyenne  Call Dean at Weatherby see what he can do to help you with that scope killer, what rings have ya been using? Different ones?

My current 378 is scoped with a spare 6500 Bushnell elite 2.5x16x42mm I had on talleys.

I went through 4 of the 6500's on my fathers 300 rum with a break before I went to vortex. Bushnell told me that my rings were faulty the first 2 times. So I went all out on badger rings. Still broke 2 more. Now vortex is all I run. Never broke another scope even on the lower crossfire line

Like I said she ain't wearing a brake.

which vortex did you run btw??????????????

Vortex is supposedly best warranty going and I know a lotta people that run them but I think i would run open sights if my eyes were god enough as ya gotta let them Elephants get close like Ivan Carter does  my that fella must wash his clothes a bunch as I have seen some of his harvest's and my laundry would be very smelly trying what he does!! I know my 338-378 has had WARNE steel bases and Tactical 30 MM steel rings on it as well as a Mark 4 ER/T 6.5-20 with lapped rings and no issues with a brake? Not sure I wanta try it without but eventually I will ? I am partial to steel rings on anything above a 300 of about any kind? BTW that rifle is really sweet looking !

I currently have a crossfire 2 on my 300 rum. My father has the viper. And I just ordered one for my rum from natchez. They have a scope sale. The crossfire I have has been through a rough time. Broke a rear leupold ring and it slammed around. Took 2 shots to realize the ring broke. And when indid the damage to the tube was done. Amazing enough after re-ringing it and mounting it it still shoots and holds zero like nothing is wrong. So when the viper shows up this guy will be sent in

Fotis,

That GMX should be one tough bullet. What speed can you get, 3200 fps?

Wow, that is some serious abuse to that scope! Good advertisement for the Vortex though. Don't hear much bad about them, and nothing but GREAT about their customer service..

Wow, 3200 outta that 250.. What a hammer..

Bad advertising for Leupold ring's but the only ones I ever liked were the one's WARNE makes for them anyway ! Near manufacturing mount will cure all that scope damage but they are spendy
