Another LSS for your viewing pleasure.

Its my 7mm Rem Mag w/a 27" Brux Interrupted Flutes and a SSG 10* brake.. Still a virgin, waiting on bullets..

Rod,

Nice! Love the look on that brake. Amazing how Nate can precisely thread and install these break with such tight tolerance. There's probably no more than .02" clearance for the bullet to pass through. I constantly clean the brake for carbon build up for fear that it might hinder the bullet when exiting.

Rod,

Man, that is a beast of beauty! I really like the LSS look, I have 4!

Very pretty, Rod. Very pretty indeed. The LSS is certainly attractive, and your work makes it a thing of beauty.

That ought to be a shooter...

Which bullets are you trying? What game do you intend to hunt with that very nice rifle? Looks like a perfect piece of gear for longish range shooting of most North American game...

Thanks Guys,

It was a fun project and I sure as heck cant wait to shoot it, but not gonna waste my time till I get the bullets I want. Sure learned alot about paitence and inletting to get that #5 to fit properly.

GM, I want to shoot 168 Bergers and am having a heck of a time trying to locate them at a acceptable $. I refuse to pay 44$ & 10$ shipping for one box of bullets. Its intended use will be for whitetails on the open plains here in Nodak.

DF, I cant wait to see how that brake works. I had one put on my 6BR at the same time and shooting that I was really impressed at the effeciency and the lack of noise/concussion normally associated with brakes of a std design. Granted my 6BR weighs in around 14/15lbs, but it really dont move at all.. And the first shot dang near sounded like a squib it was so reduced compared to my other braked rifles. Yep, only that brake from here on out..

For deer, seriously consider the 150 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip - I've seen some incredible accuracy from that bullet in a couple of different 7mm Rem mag rifles - loaded over a max charge of Reloader 22. The 140 works very well too.

If you want something a tad heavier, the 160 AccuBond is great, but more bullet than you need for deer.

I like the 168 Bergers, but... with the 7mm Rem mag I find myself shooting Noslers most of the time. They just plain work.

Regards, Guy

Hey Rod have you had a look at whole sale sports In Fargo yet for the Bergers. If i do remember correctly they had some 140gr bergers and 168 bergers about a week ago.

Mladucer,

Hey thanks for thinking of that, but I was over there last week in fact. Noted they did have 168's & 180's in the target bullet config, but not the hunting bullet.

I have come close a couple of times this past weekend of running back and getting the 140 hunting bullets tho. But I have the will power to hold out, maybe its being bullheaded, or just flippin stubborn..

But if I am gonna shoot 140's, I got a bunch of NBT's to play with. This would be a far more serious issue if it we had decent shooting wx..

How are the "rig roads" out west of your hometown? Drying up?

Rod

The muzzle break looks like it belongs on a tank.
I want one for my LSS! Thanks for sharing an awsome rifle.
Greg

The Rig roads are kinda sorta "Dry up", but are still packed down and smoother then the highways from all the traffic this spring. Looking at 500 new wells out this way. Or so I've been told.

Kinda excited for Prong horn this, been kinda scouting when i head out there to work.

Hey Pop,

Got a Sightron SII, 6x24. Heck of a scope fer the $$$.. I am gonna save my pennies and pimp her out with a 4.5x14 Leupy like JD's..
