M48 Warranty?

I've had my M48 for a few years now and I've hunted with it extensively... today I was starting to clean it after doing some load development and practice over the weekend and I noticed the safety wouldn't engage. I dug a little deeper and found an unusual problem that I likely can't have the local smith fix. Given that I've got a sheep hunt on Aug 10 this couldn't come at a worse time.

What is the warranty period on a rifle and how long does customer service generally take? I know that's kind of an open ended question but given Nosler is closed the next two days it can't hurt to ask....

hodgeman,

You need to contact Shawn Finley at Nosler ASAP.
I know they will take care of you and in quick fashion.

Jim's right, I would bet they will bend over backwards to take care of you. They have their reputation riding on them rifles! Scotty

OK...Nosler contacted me yesterday and today the rifle is heading in for surgery and a heart transplant via. UPS.

John was an extremely helpful guy!

Thanks,
Mike

Nosler is a world class company and a class act. I know that they will not turn their back on a customer.
Glad they are taking care of you.

Mike,

That's great! I wouldn't have expected anything less from a quality company like Nosler.

As a bonus John even thinks he'll have it back in time for my hunt...

I gotta confess I did manage to pick up a stainless Tikka T3 on the cheap just in case it doesn't make it back in time. Its a nice rifle but its not my M48... I think I'll name it "Plan B".

Any excuse is acceptable for those infected with RADD. That's why we're here, Mike, to enable you.

Glad to hear they are taking good care of you. Nosler is the best! I would be sweating bullets :p in your case though if my rifle went down right before a sheep or goat  hunt like that. I'm glad I have my wife's 25-06 to use and possibly my son's 300 WSM if he gets the thing scoped in time. As Mike and other's have mentioned to me MANY times though, maybe I should use this as the excuse to get that .280 Remington I so badly want!

Keep us updated and let us know how long this takes for them to get you all lined out! Good luck on that and on your sheep. What caliber is the Tikka?

I've been so happy with the .300WSM I didn't see much reason to change... plus that fact I've got a large supply of .300WSM ammo and components ready to go.

It was tempting to get a different cartridge but I guess my practical side won out... that and the fact the Tikka wasn't available in anything really interesting like 280AI.

Got a call form John this morning...my rifle is headed back to AK today.

Outstanding customer service and super turn around time!

Thanks Nosler!

Shawn is a great guy to deal with! As is the rest of the staff at Nosler.

My M48 came back from Nosler a couple weeks ago and I managed to get the scope re-mounted and everything bore sighted amid all the other busywork of the season... 4 seperate MOA groups on a windy, windy day this evening from across the hood of the Jeep. It's dialed in for a 200yd zero with 180 Accubonds and the rifle is "good to go".

Leaving for 10 day sheep hunt on Mon.

Good luck! That sounds like an incredible hunt. Pictures, take lots of pictures so we can live vicariously through you!

Good luck on the hunt. Glad your rifle was fixed up properly. Scotty

I'm truly pleased that Nosler took care of you. It does sound as if you're good to go. Best of luck on your hunt.

Good luck on your Sheep hunt! I'm very glad we were able to get your rifle fixed and back to you in time for your hunt. Please take lots of photos so I can post them on the Nosler Facebook page (if that is okay with you).
