M70 264 WM FWT Maple stock

I took the 264 out yesterday to run some random loads through it. Just wanted to get a feel for it. The day before I changed some trigger springs in a couple other 70's and neglected this one. I could definitely feel how stuff it was. Seems most of the MOA's come about 3 1/2-4lbs. Not horrible but way heavier than I like. Otherwise the rifle shot pretty decent with 120 BT's, 120 TTSX's and very nice with the 130 AB's. The 120 ETips were a solid shotgun pattern.

Here is what the ETip's looked like. Thankfully I didn't shoot those first, I would've thought the barrel was bent.





Overall, pretty nice feeling rifle. Hope to get the trigger spring swapped and it can get zeroed up with the 130's. Should be a good whitetail chasin rifle for this fall.

It's a 2.5x15 Credo I think. Nice scope, have one on the 270 Featherweight as well. Those are SFP's as well which suit me a little better for deer hunting up close.

Beautiful rifle Scotty! I would never have guessed it was Maple! Looks more like Feather Crotch English or even Dark French. Just gorgeous!

If you try Hornady CX, remember that I could not get either the 185 nor 225 to shoot out of my last 338WM! 5-7"patterns! In FF loads for my 338/06 the 225 was all over the target.
