Yes sir. Or you can neck 22-250 up. Lots of good 22-250 out there.
Beat me to it. I still think you need this rifle for Dylan

Everyone needs a 250-3000. Remington made brass and loaded 100 gr. PSP,s last time I checked. 100 gr. BTs @2900 fps is the way to go. Lot of money for a remington IMHO even if it was the classic series. Still...would be nice CL

Yeah, it's a sweetheart for sure, but it'll take more than that to get me to budge off a Winchester buddy!

I wondered how long it would take you to weigh in, Troy. No question but that this is a delightful cartridge that is highly underrated for deer size game.

Yeah, but for 900, I'd rather cobble together a Model 70 the way I want it!

Well if I keep driving the Dump truck I might get enough money together to cobble my M70 the way I want it.

I saw a 700 Classic .300 Savage for sale at the Springfield, OR Cabelas for $709 I think...

They also had one of he Special Edition M70s in .257 Roberts, but at around $1300, I wasn't that interested.

Way too simple, Troy.
Actually savage doesn't list it on their web page this year. You could rebarrel a savage. That isn't supposed to be too tough CL
