Hi Les. Yes, it's me....

Good to hear from you bud. Thank you again for all the help setting this cannon up.
I'm getting good brass with minimal run out with about 95% of my new cases using just the FL sizing die. You saved me a good bit of cash by telling me to try the FL die before I picked up a form die.
I would really like to have a elk in front of the Mashburn but for now I guess I'll have to try to put a hole in one of these Minnesota brutes.

I haven't shot Dober's load over the chrono yet. I should be able to get you some numbers by this weekend. I will be doing further testing for sure. Mark was the one that got me interested in the Mashburn. He does know the cartridge very well.

It appears that BobinNH is here now from 24hourcampfire (welcome I'm sure you will have a lot to add to this fine forum) Maybe one of you could also ask Mr Dobrenski to join up here, I believe I heard he gave up on the campfire but he would also fit in nicely here.

It has been neat to see you guys having a good time with the good old 7mm Mashburn, now in honor of Hagel one of you needs to go bag a mountain grizzly with the round........

I'm with Gerry on this! Dober would be more than welcome on here as well.

Glad to have you here BF375, you've seen it is nothing like 24HCF. Hunters, shooters and good folks all around here.

Gerry, I'd love to put the smack down on an old bear with the Mashburn just for that very reason..

Thanks to all. Nice to be over here. I had no idea you guys were having so much fun over here with the Mashburn ! (y)

Les I'm glad the FL dies worked for you. I keep saying the case is "easy"....seems you guys are seeing that. I'm watching the loads and they all seem to be pretty much in line with what I've seen my rifle and others produce.

Not knowing what I'd run into I bought the F/T dies and still use them but quickly admit they aren't required. I think they are a hold over from the days when the case was formed from 300 H&H cases, and there was no 300 Win Mag. But they do work with 300 Win mag cases.

My pal and I ordered what was the first dies Redding ever built for the Mashburn (at least that's what I was told) and they quickly recognized that FL dies worked well for forming cases. They do not make a F/T die.

Gerry I think my grizzly days are over after having killed two. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a grizzly with the cartridge. It's already been done.I hope to take the Mashburn to Canada this October on a moose hunt and will use either the 160 Bitterroot or 175 Partition. Actually I'm waiting for SJB358 to run a 175 BBC through his jug test. I have a stash. But I've already used the 160 on elk and know what to expect.

I am in touch with Dober every other day or so and will let him know his presence is requested. :)

Yes, he was always a gentleman and would be most welcome here.

Scotty, I hope you can make the grizz happen one day.

Yeah, me too.. Not sure I could stand to not take my 338 though for such an occasion!

I am very happy with the Mashburn though. It is a straight up performer with the 160's and 175's for me. Really have enjoyed working with it.
