I'm going to call match grade machine this week and inquire about having a 7MM-08 barrel made for my encore. Anyone encore shooters have any experience whit their barrels?
I have one, and it's a good barrel. It's no OTT, but I would get another form them. Likely now that OTT isn't making any more barrels to my knowledge, I would probably go to MGM first.
I looked at E. Arthur Brown, according to their website it's a 6-12 wait to have a barrel made. I don't want to wait that long if I go ahead with this.

I have a MGM barrel, Its a 260 rem heavy factory contour 25" long. Its a shooter. It will shoot better than i can shoot. I have not played with a lot of loads with it, but it will do MOA with the 3 I have tried. I would not hesitate buying one from them, they are very well made, and I live pretty close to them, within a hour and a half. I bent the extractor because of my stuppidity, they gave a new one no questions asked. I don't shoot it alot, as I have a bolt 260. I would even sell it just just so it did not collect dust. Buy a MGM they will shoot. Heck they may even have one in stock.

I have a 14" Shilen SS in 30-30AI for my Contender pistol from MGM and it is a REAL SHOOTER. They have different barrel makes or at least they did 3 years ago when I got mine. I have never had a bad Shilen barrel. At the time I got mine it took 3 months to get it.
I called yesterday and left a message, hopefully I hear back fairly quick. I leaning toward a 24' bull barrel with a 1-11 twist. I don't see me shooting anything heavier than a 140 gr bullet out of it.
