hi!
i ordered 200 grains AccuBond to load in my 300rum.
i'm looking for load info with rl-25.
i searched this site and found quickload info that put 87.2 gr. at 64000 psi
so i guess 88 gr. would be max.
in sierras 5th edition manual. with their 200 gr. bullets the max is 92. gr.
is this due to bullet shape difference?.

if someone could do a quickload with this but using my 115.2 gr.
h2o case capacity and 24" barrel, i quess that would be ideal.
as you've done the same for the 168 gr. ttsx and the projected velocity was exactly the same i got on my chrono.

i'm relatively new to reloading and for now i rely on books for max loads.
getting up there slowly and never above

thanks!

Another vote for Retumbo.
It works very well in the RUMs.

I'd recommend starting with 95.0 grains Retumbo and then stoping before you get to 95.1--works for me!

Just start low and work up. Thats all you can do.

RL-25, H1000 or Retumbo are the top 3 powders for the 300 RUM with heavier bullets IMO. I never used RL-25, but did use A LOT of H1000 and a bit of Retumbo.

You should be able to get 3150-3225fps depending on the variables with a 200g bullet and max loads with the above powders.

I personally shot 92g of H1000 with the 200g AB, I got 3150fps and 1/2-1 MOA out to 1K with a factory barreled rem 700 LSS.

My maxes were

92.5 rl25
94 gr retumbo

3140 fps or so with the 200AB

thanks everyone for your answers and/or suggestions
i think i,ll try RL-25 first as i still have a can.
i'll start at 85 gr. and work up slowly to 92 gr.
i guess all i have to do is check for hard bolt lift, flattened primers, and ejector marks?
if the velocity or accuracy i get is not what i expected i'll give retumbo a try.
