Well I went to the range today to keep the tradition alive. I took the M1 out and hit some steel at 125 yards with the old girl. Every time I hear it smack, I smile. I also took a few rifles to test some loads out.
I finally finished up my barrel break in on my 6BR and ran some test groups today. 105 Custom Com with Varget, Lapua brass and CCI450 primers with a .012" jam.
28.0-.346"
28.5-.360"
29.0-.245"
29.5-.452"
30.0-.505"

Dad's 25-06 with 51.0gr of RL19, 110AB and Rem brass
I tried different depths measured off the ogive.
2.698" at ogive-1.368" group
2.683-.840" group
2.668-2.307" group
I plan on reshooting the 2.683" depth to double check it.

Last was the father-in-laws 30-06 with H4350, 165 PT, Win LR primers and Win brass. These had 61.5 grains of powder and were set at different depths.
.025" off lands-2.200"
.040" off lands-1.105"
.055" off lands-1.906"
I am going to retry the .04" off the lands to see if I can reshoot it.

Any ideas or tips to improve on what you see? It was nice to be at the range. No one around except the 100000000000000001 mosquitos.
