I know this story is not about reloading but since it is the most read site I will post it here to get the most people exposed to it.
It happened to a friend of mine's wife yesterday and he passed the story on to me today so it is a bit second hand info but I tried to get all of the details from him correctly.
I have never heard of this happening before but here goes.
She had a small 12 volt deer feeder battery and a 10 round plastic cartridge holder with 10 rounds of 25/06 Federal Fusion ammunition. The ammo was not in the box only in the plastic cartridge holder. For whatever reason, she but the battery down then placed the cartridges on the battery and before she could remove her had one of the cartridges exploded. Brass case ruptured and bullet just stayed there. Luckily she was not seriously injured but did have some powder burns on her hand. I can only think that she must have touched one or both of the posts and set the cartridge off. I didnt know this could happen but it did. Just wanted to pass this on to others.
