Model 7 rebore to 338 Fed or 358 Win

I never shot the 180 grain Speer FN, but I did do some work with the 200 grain FTX (47.0 grains of IMR3031) and the 200 grain Sierra SPRN (53.0 grains of TAC). Both gave excellent accuracy and velocities.

This little 358 has been a joy to shoot. With either of the 338 Federal or 358 Winchester there is no wrong answer but I lean towards the 358 a bit more.

Think it will be a 358. Will be heading down south pass by JES place in April. Will drop off the rifle then. Maybe if I am lucky, can arrange to pick it up after a week of hunting.

A model 7 in 358 Win would be a sweet gun to carry, light, compact and powerful.

My choice would be to go with the .358 Win. :mrgreen:
