This is a great group of men, women, and kids all fighting to keep our outdoor heritage alive involving hunting, fishing, and trapping. The banquets are a lot of fun and they have some fantastic raffles, live auctions, games, 3 rifle raffle drawing, and other activities. The food is fantastic too! More than 30 firearms are up for grabs, and there will be many other prizes besides these also. Montana SFW is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) based in Missoula Montana but there is a new chapter starting up in Dillon Montana, and a couple other towns in Montana might be gearing up to join with us in the near future.

I'm another guy ; if this was closer I'd be attending .

I've been around Paul Antczak , he is the real deal . I think he said he has about 400 acres in remote Montana , and lives off the grid . he's a trapper , including a wolf trapper . I attended the " fur takers of America , trappers college" this past September . this was held in Wolcottville IN . Paul was one of the instructors . . I'm a self taught trapper , and I wanted to try and up my game . at my age I figured the best and quickest way to up my game , was to get some training , instead of keeping with the self learning . I can't say enough of how good the Trappers college was , and I encourage anyone to attend , that is a trapper , or wants to learn trapping . this will really speed up the learning curve .

since I've met Paul , I do watch the mountain man show some , I'm not a TV person . if you watch the show you will see that Tom has a few stickers on his pack basket . one being a Fur takers of , America sticker . his does not have the black piece that says " Trappers College " .

Thought I would add this is that MT SFW is very active and involved in the legislature and the group has testified on many different issues over the years. MT SFW is very active in trying to make a difference. Jeff Darrah is the executive director and is a retired Montana Fish & Game Warden. His experience and knowledge is so beneficial to this group.

Montana SFW also supports our youth and as an example of that $5,000.00 was donated by SFW to the new indoor youth shooting facility called the Liberty Center Indoor Range. It was built to be used for Air Rifle, Air Pistol, and Archery. I understand that this is the largest indoor range west of the Mississippi. In the basement of this facility will be an indoor rimfire and pistol range. The youth have first use of these facilities, but it is also open to club members if it is not scheduled to be used by the kids. They have first rights of use.
