Best of luck on your upcoming hunt.
Brake708,
Welcome to the forum!
We are looking forward to our Honeymoon Moose hunt in
Newfoundland. I started working on a load for Sue's 280 AI with the 160 gr PT. Any tips or suggestions you may have are welcome. Where are you located in Newfoundland?

JD, this is whom I hunted with a few times, and my brother for over a decade. He helped with running his shows in Michigan. I hunted with his Father, and another older gentleman whom I respected very much.

I have not been there for many years, but the Son has made a life long operation from his business, and knows the business well. Hopefully the quotas have stayed back so what was once more Moose per square mile then any place on Earth remains for the sake of the Species.

As you prepare for your trip, think core strength. Packing the loads I hope you'll have, the tundra will test you. I actually think snow shoeing is great preparation for Tundra hiking, but snow will be in short supply prior to your trip. Running, biking being in good shape obviously will help significantly but adding stairs or some other exercise to really condition your hip flexor will pay great dividends. If you prepare for every step requiring you to raise your knee waist high, while standing on a pillow, you're ready.

In Newfoundland it's the Black Spruce that will keep you out of walking a straight line, but yes they have lots of wet tundra intermixed with the short but thick stands of Black Spruce.

LRH,

Good to hear. I've known Eric for 20 years. He is the real deal. He is just as excited as we are about the hunt. I know he will give it his best to put Sue and I on a couple of nice bulls, weather permitting. I'm expecting a call from Eric tomorrow with the timing of our hunt.
