Moose season must be over!!!!!

I went out to a park area near anchorage today and saw 7 bull moose in the course of a half hour. 3 of these bulls were very big bulls too. The biggest was a real bruiser with a radio collar on. These were all on a no hunting area so they weren't particularly shy. I also saw 15 or so Dall sheep about half mile away on a mountain side. All in all it was a great day for viewing some moose behavior. I watched two bulls square off for over 15 minutes before the smaller of the two walked around the clearing and walked off. I just wish I could see moose like that when I was hunting.

That's always the case :grin:

Last year I was elk hunting and what we thought was a big bruiser coming in, breaking branches turned out to be the biggest mule deer I have seen!!
No matter how much we tried to make him into an elk it didn't happen.
