More help with the rifle decision.

Found a donor for my build. A Winchester Model 70 from the New Haven plant and made in the USA. It's a classic sporter in .270 Winchester that is used but looks brand new. If it's been shot it hasn't been much. I don't see any dings or nicks on it and in fact the gas escape hole on the bolt side still has cosmoline in it!! It's at a pawn shop and I know the owner. I asked him if he would hold it a couple days while I do some $$$ magic. It has the factory box to go with it even. The price he is asking is $700.00 which sounds pretty fair. So what do you all think?? I think I'm ready to take the plunge and once I start it will be forward we go so I have a .280 Remington for upcoming hunting season hopefully!!

Now that being said if this works out and I get this rifle I will have a .270 Winchester Model 70 barrel for sale and I think I would give one of these fine members a "really good deal" on a barrel that I have no idea how many rounds went down it, but it cannot be many. So in addition to being just a wee bit excited myself, would any of you fine folks possibly be interested??? Just let me know. I'd like to give one of you guys first crack at it.

I have a Hart barrel on my 280 AI.
She is a shooter and a snap to clean.

Very exciting to see the possibility, David. I would think the price on the donor is a bit on the high side, but I've paid more just to have the action I wanted. I'd be pretty stoked for you to have the .280 at last.
