Firstly, thanks to Dr Mike and SJB358 for providing 240 Wby QL Data, which helped immensely in establishing a starting point for load development.

My goal was sub moa and 3300 fps with either the 105 VLD or Amax. I started with the VLD and 3 different powders..RL-25, RL-22 and Norma MRP. Since the intent of this build is long range shooting, I did all group testing at 200 yds. After 58 rounds total, including barrel break in, I achieved my performance goal with MRP and the 105 VLD. (I haven't tried the Amax yet.)

I tried 4 different MRP powder charges and all grouped under an inch, besides one at 1.65 in. I settled on 54.5 grains, which provided a .81, 3 shot group for an average velocity of 3322 and no pressure signs. RL-22 was close in both velocity and accuracy, but not as good as MRP. RL-25 was as accurate as the MRP, but velocity was way off the mark.

I know it's a little early to call it good, but preliminary results are very encouraging. I'm going to tweak the seating depth to see if I can tighten the results up a bit. I'll keep everyone posted.

Also, thanks to everyone who provided input when I was deciding on which 6mm to go with. I'm really happy I went with the 6-06. I can't wait to get it out in the field. The 105 VLD with it's high BC, ought to be some nasty yote medicine at long range when started at 3300.

That is great stuff. Sounds like it was precisely what you were looking for. Good on you; bad for yotes.

That is some great shooting, it is very gratifying to build a rifle then a load good on you! I really believe the coyotes are going to get nervous when they see you truck driving by .

Blessings,
Dan

MRP powder does magic in Weatherby calibers...but apparently also in others too. I believe the above mentioned charges is what I have used in my .240Bee with similar bullet.

I'd suspect you're going to get that rifle down around a half-inch for three shot groups.

Yes, coyotes (and deer if you so desire) will be in big trouble from a fast-stepping 6mm!

Congrats, nice work at the loading bench and at the range.

Thanks Guy. Yes. I defnitely plan on hunting Whitetail as well. Hogs too!

Sounds like it's coming together very nicely for you. That thing should shoot like a laser at 3300 fps with the 105 gr.! Wow
