Here is my 30-06 with the Hogue Mold Over Stock (full aluminum bedding block) and a new Bushnell 4200 3-9x40mm. This configuration will be what I use to finish my load redo on the 30-06 which POP has helped out a great deal by providing load data info which has saved me a ton of money and time.

Mike,

That is a good-looking setup. As always, your photography is superb. Consequently, what induced you to go with the 4200? It is a good scope, but we haven't seen it on any of your rifles heretofore.

I have Been frustrated a few times down here in Mississippi over the last three years since our winters are so often wet and humidity is high that I have had to try and wipe a scope to see game clearly enough to take my shot. The 4200 is good glass for the money and is actually a little brighter to my eyes than the VX-III is and I can see images earlier in the morning than with the VX-III. So, I sold one of my VX-III scopes and bought the 4200.

No question that the Busnell is a good scope for the money. I have owned three 3200 scopes and one 3000. I really had no complaints for what I spent. I do know that moisture can be a problem on the Gulf coast of Louisiana and Texas. I never lived in Mississippi, but I can speak for the two states immediately to the west of Ol' Miss.

Bullet Looks good!! Did you happen to check ring alignment? Just had a problem with rings on a ruger. Had to lap them pretty good to get left/right straight.

These are fine. In fact it is the first time I put a new scope on a rifle and when I bore sighted it I did not have to make any adjustments. Also, I use a wooden dowel that is one inch in diameter to check my rings and it laid in just perfect in my rings without having to use any force. That lets me know it is pretty much in the ball park.
